About

I adopted Dorgan from RSPCA on the 8th of August 2012. Since then he’s been my best friend, my child, my source of constant entertainment and love. He was eight years old at that time. Dorgy was born on the 11th of November 2004.

He was the most adorable and lovely dog that inspired me to do little photography projects and dress-ups. This website initially started as a platform for those photos of him. Now it’s all about Dorgy.

Dorgan was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma on the 21st of December 2016. You can google what’s this ‘monster’ is about. He was given weeks to live. But he lived 101 days. On the 30th of March his condition deteriorated quickly and he passed away the next day at about 11am in the company of my mother-in-law and brother-in-law. Unfortunately, I had to leave home three hours before that. This still depresses me but I can’t do anything about it now. The only warm thought is that he was loved and patted to his last breaths…

The words can’t describe the pain and emptiness I experience after Dorgy left us. This website became a pure grief zone where I can express my feelings without being annoying to other people. I found that sometimes even the dog owners can’t understand the type of relationships I had with Dorgan, that deep connection we shared. It makes me sad but I feel reluctant to explain anything to anyone.

I started writing letters to Dorgan because I was feeling lonely without him and hurt. I found it very helping.

My first letter to Dorgan is here.

I will remember my beautiful Dorgy forever… I hope this website will become a nice tribute to this wonderful and amazing dog that changed my life…

  1. This makes me sooo happy! You love him as much as me and my Mum did. We got him for my Mum’s birthday in December of 2005? I think. I named him Dorgan after a story about my sister as a little girl who got given a big toy dog and declared “It’s a Dorgan”. We always loved him to bits but Mum had to relinquish him after being unwell and after years living in a tiny yard and over-feeding him so he wouldn’t bark and disturb the neighbours. I have thought about him often since and it plagued me to think that I couldn’t take him on at the time that she had to relinquish him. I decided to do a random google search tonight to see if anything would appear about him but I was never expecting this and was completely blown away. My Mum would have been so excited if she was still around to know that he is adored by you the way we adored him. He is so distinctive, beautiful and good natured. Still love him to bits. Thank you for rescuing him and treasuring him! Is he still in Adelaide? I would like to share some pics of him from when he was a puppy if you are interested!

  2. Hi, I’m Karen’s sister, so I was sort of Dorgan’s Aunty!! The whole family are just so happy to see your site, he is most definitely the ‘Most Adorable Dalmation Online’.
It was a real act if love for Karen to relinquish Dorgan. My sis has passed away so for us to see Dorgy is a well needed burst of great news.
    Dogs are just the best!
Loving your site, I look forward to the further adventures of Dorgan- TMADO!
Greatest gratitude to you for being the most amazing owner he could have wished for, Susie 🐾🐾🐾

  3. Hi, I also have some pics. I knew Dorgo from 2007 to 2012. late nite walks to Henley South along the Torrens were good, when he found ‘sea monsters’ notso good lol. took him down the stairs at Henley Jetty, had to carry him back up cos he freaked out. He wasn’t trained, but a beautiful boy. He loved the beach and learnt to swim in a more economical style eventually else he would have drowned chasing balls lol. Congrats on being the new Mrs Dorgan. He’s a very lucky boy. he was also known as Prince Dorgan, because of his manner sometimes. Used to joke that he was wearing a fez and smoking a sherlock holmes pipe while sitting on lounge pontificating.haha he is psychic tho lol
